Nathaniel Peat Sensei holds the
rank of Godan (5°) awarded by his teacher Shihan (Kyoshi) R. M Yamanaka he has 24 years experience in martial arts, and
has a solid grounding in authentic martial arts (Okinawa Goju-Ryu 5°, Shotokan 2°) with knowledge
extending over several styles and systems within Budo; some of which include Ju-Jitsu, Kung Fu and Kobudo. In addition to the traditional art, he has an applied understanding and knowledge of biomechanics and human movement which he employs in his teaching.
He has been the Chief instructor at Brunel Kobu-Jitsu
Dojo since 1998 after being officially appointed
by Saiko Shihan Yamanaka (9° Shaolin, 8° Goju-Ryu, 8° Shindo Ryu).
Over the years he has had the opportunity to train with
some of the worlds greatest teachers. He regularly travels
to train with experienced and internationally recognised master instructors in order to develop and grow in the martial arts.
Despite acheivements made he regards himself as a continual student,
seeking to improve skill and ability through intense training.
Much of the success and experience he has acheived is due to the
amount of dedicated and honest students that he has. They all seek to strive in bettering themselves
and have become great role models of what true martial artists should be like.
One of his major aims is to make a difference in society, seeking
to encourage and develop youngsters into achieving and bettering
themselves within society. He is the director of 'The Safety Box' which runs a wide range of different courses dealing with conflict resolution, anti-social behaviour, confidence building and personal safety. In line with the governments aims with the Every Child Matters initiative, The Safety Box working together with schools and youth groups aim to help protect children and young people from harm and aid them in achieving what they want in life.
He is forever grateful to the following teachers who have taught him
in his development:
Saiko Shihan Yamanaka (Kyoshi),
Shihan F. Darren Smith (Kyoshi), Professor Leon Jay (Small Circle Ju-Jitsu),
Cal Peat Sensei, Shihan Barry Mitchell, Shihan Giovanni Di Meglio,
