Nah Blud, No Shank Project
The Nah Blud, No Shank Project is a 8 week Safety Awareness project”.
It is a gripping 8 week street awareness, anti-knife, confidence building and gang avoidance program designed for young people.
The project provides a realistic approach to dealing with aggressive behaviour, so that young people do not feel the need to pick up a knife as a weapon of defence.
They are taught through highly motivated interactive modules about respect, leadership qualities, body language, conflict avoidance, conflict resolution and are given very realistic non-aggressive self defence techniques against knives.
Throughout the course the modules and techniques are filmed, they also create several drama based conflict situations and a documentary that are filmed which are later produced and put onto DVD. From the project the young people help to create a DVD and lesson plans which can be used as an interactive resource for youth centres, primary and secondary schools in the local area to challenge gang and knife culture.
