(KCPO) Knife crime & gbh iNTERVENTIONS

The KCPO is a new civil order intended to prevent individuals being drawn into, or further into, knife crime, knife possession and related serious violence. The intention is that the orders will focus specifically on those most at risk of being drawn into knife crime and serious violence, to provide them with the support they need to turn away from violence. The focus is therefore on providing preventative interventions, rather than on punitive measures.

The Safety Box ® Aspire Higher Program is an AQA accredited educational, holistic life skills & personal development program designed in partnership with Syrus Consultancy CIC to change behaviour traits, offending behaviours, weapon carrying and negative mindsets. The program is designed for young people aged 12-25 and also older adult offenders.

It uses advanced coaching methodologies, relationship counselling and a refined system of training and development in helping youth and adults to develop important life skills such as leadership, team work, relationship building, presentation, communication, financial literacy, money management, business basics, conflict resolution, violence reduction, anger management, personal development and problem solving.

Within this module, we teach heavy business principles, which will help them to start their own business. In addition to this, we show them the methodology and basic principles surrounding trading, forex, high frequency, block chain and crypto, which are all part of our ways in which we show how we can make money.

We recognise that these are some of the essential keys to success. They open doors to learning, to life in addition to work. They are a platform on which to build employability skills and the gateway to future well-being and prosperity.

We use a combination of evidenced based methodologies which compliment each other and have a proven track record of working within the custodial setting and within the community.

All of our workshops are delivered by dynamic facilitators and the workers are labelled as being “credible messengers” (those with experiences of achieving great success after formally being involved in violence, gang affiliation and or offending behaviour). This allows for a cognizant connection with many of the participants and an approach which leads to a potent peer led program.

The program utilizes reflective practice and seeks to test the impact of peer to peer mentorship in increasing awareness of the living with better values outside of the intervention.

The program is inspirational, impactful and empowering.

It utilises the following methodology of engagement:

  • Focus Group Work

  • Open Dialogue

  • 1-2-1 Life Coaching

  • 1-2-1 & Group Therapeutic Sessions

  • Evaluation sheets

  • Empathy Tools

  • Music Therapy

  • Cultural Identifications

  • Positive Speech & Affirmations

  • Role Play

  • Reflective Practice

Testimonials of the Aspire Higher programme

met police officer inspector matt chapman TESTIMONIAL

‘I recently attended one of the sessions that The Safety Box team were running at Haringey 6th form college and I was hugely impressed by the enthusiasm of all those involved. I could see that each of the young people attending the sessions were enjoying the programme and were inspired and uplifted by the positivity, encouragement and support given to them by The Safety Box team. Having attended the session, based on their delivery, I would recommend The Safety Box as a viable intervention for young people’
