Volunteer With us…

An award-winning, profit-with-purpose social enterprise, The Safety Box ® CIC runs an evidence-based intervention platform that seeks to safeguard young people and reduce violence within communities across the UK.

The Safety Box has been involved in projects ranging from £50,000 - £3,000,000 commissioned directly by the Metropolitan Police, Hertfordshire Police, MOJ, HMPPS and Home Office. Within our latest 2021-2022 interventions, we have been involved in a £1.3 million program, across London to impact 3,000 young people with positive opportunities after school. Since the inception of The Safety Box, we have impacted over 19,200 lives of young people, in safeguarding them against crime and violence, grooming and assisted them to engage in education and employment, post our intervention.

2022 has also seen us delivering a £3 million pilot to reduce offending amongst young adults, which has been commissioned by the Ministry of Justice and The Mayor for London Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) and developed by The Safety Box, amongst 3 other delivery partners. As you can see from above, we are the helm of providing essential services for young people, and we have bridged the support into powerful partnership work with organisations such as Manchester United Foundation and SEGA, to empower young people and divert them away from a negative future.

Being part of our Voluntary Team at The Safety Box, you will experience what a difference and impact our intervention programs make, to troubled youth, young adults and adults being failed by society and the system. You will get to see first-hand, how your ideas and contributions can make a practical and lasting impact to young people, just like yourself.

What types of volunteering are there?

FACE-TO-FACE VOLUNTEERING

This is where you can give your time on site to a youth intervention. It’s a very popular and engaging way for employees to get out of your day-to-day routines while connecting and contributing to the lives of young people, this could be speaking at their graduation about your career or coming to visit the delivery.

VIRTUAL VOLUNTEERING

Online volunteering allows you to contribute to a cause but will free you from the responsibility of travelling to or from a specific location. Within this volunteering you are able to support young people online alongside one of our staff members, you are able to join a class virtually online and be interviewed about your career or give a speech to the young people.

SKILLS-BASED VOLUNTEERING

This is where you are able to use your knowledge and abilities to benefit us as an organisation this can be face to face or completed virtually over discrete periods of time. We highly value professional contributions around financial, marketing, governance and funding training, coaching and mentoring.
